Holiday Card

Magazine Cover - EC

Photo Collage - EC

This collage represents me because The Walking Dead is not only my favorite show, but my favorite comic book. TWD was the first comic book i got into and really is the comic that got me into comic books which also got me more into art and a whole new community that i felt comfortable in.
TWD is such a complex show and comic. It mixes in the horror genre with things that could actually happen in relationships with people you're close to. The first time i walked into a comic book shop, I had no idea what anything was or who anyone in the comic industry was. I picked up Walking Dead and instantly fell in love with it. It made me interested in what other comics were out there and what other universes i could explore.
After I got into comic books, i soon learned about Comic Conventions and after about a year and a half of reading comic books, i went to my first con. Just like with the books, i fell in love with conventions almost immediately and go to them every year if i can.
Comics became my crutch for the past 6 years and helped get through whatever problems came at me. They became somewhere i could escape to and be comfortable with. They became something to bond over with me and my friends. Comics have shaped my in so many ways and have me through so many life changing events. I honestly don't know where i would be if i hadn't picked up TWD or if i hadn't taken those steps in the comic book shop.

Taking Better Architecture Photos

  1. How can you adjust lines in your photography? You can use a tilt-shift lens or find the vertical lines when editing in Photoshop.
  2. How does organizing your capture help the final photo? Clutter distracts from what you really want people to see. If you organize and lessen the clutter of the interior, the photo won't look messy and it'll look very put together and professional.
  3. Explain three more tip that you learned from this article and find helpful.
    1. To have control over your lighting.
    2. To always be patient, especially when trying to capture people and/or moving vehicles like cars.
    3. Double check everything.

Greatest Architectural Photographers - 3 Photos

Photo #1:

Photographer: Daniel Hewitt
Why this photo?: I chose this photo because it's a very strong photo. You could say that a weakness of the photo is that it isn't symmetrical, but for this photo that is actually one of it's strengths. It shows bold lines and a strong character.

Photo #2:

Photographer: Cameron R. Neilson
Why this photo?: I chose this photo because it actually shows what everyone sees when they look up when they're in a big city. It brings some realism that never really gets old. You can identify patterns in the architecture, like windows and balconies which kind of gives off the feeling that the buildings can go on forever and never end.

Photo #3:

Photographer: Randy Scott Slavin
Why this photo?: While Cameron R. Neilson gave a realistic and familiar look at architecture, Randy Scott Slavin gives us a more abstract and unfamiliar way of looking at things. Normally, we don't see buildings curving as they reach for the sky, we see them straight and tall, going towards the top of the frame rather than the middle. Another thing we don't see often is the whole city. Unless you're on a very high structure, you can never get an extremely detailed and perfect picture showing the whole city and all of its perks, the way Randy Scott Slavin shoots his photos, shows us the entirety of a city with an abstract and uncommon view of things which is refreshing.

Photo with Watermark

Watermark

1.) Are you for or against adding watermarks to your images? I am for adding watermarks on photos simply to prevent people from taking your original artwork and posting it saying that it's yours. While a lot of watermarks are big and in the middle of the photo and doesn't look to good, they're useful (in that certain way) because no one can crop it out without crop out 90% of the picture,

2. If someone took your photos & wouldn't give you credit what would you do? I would confront the person whether it's online or in person. If the person is pretty nice about it and apologizes and take it down from wherever they posted it and day they took it from another artist, then it would be all cool; but because little to no people do that, i would make it known on where i originally posted it that someone took my work and would post a link to where that person had posted my work.

Trump Hair

TRUMP HAIR

Trump Hair is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed. It needs to be spoken about openly and honestly. Trump Hair isn't just bad hair that looks like a toupee, it's a serious disease with serious symptoms. It can cause loss of brain cells which will cause a loss to rationing and common sense. It can lead to you becoming a meme on a the internet. It can be spread and infect others through large speeches that are listened to by large crowds, it can be especially dangerous if elected as a nations leader, but there is hope, Trump Hair can be cured.
You can help defeat the horrible effects of Trump Hair by not acknowledging the namesake, Donald Trump. The hair thrives on attention and only gets stronger with more.
Together, we can beat Trump Hair.
Together, we can get through this.

Tuesday - Snapshot vs. Fine Art

1.) Define Snapshot and Fine Art in own words.
Snapshot- A snapshot is to capture a moment in time without thinking of the possible gain you could get from it. They could could be Fine Art of you wanted them to be.
Fine Art- A picture that took time to take and looks nice and is perfect.

2.) Could you easily tell which photos were meant to be fine art and which were meant to be snapshots? Yes

3.) What are some differences between both types of photography? Fine Art is more professional and snapshots are more amatuer and less professional.

4.) Do you think Snapshots could be Fine Art too? Why? Yes they could. If they're edited and greatly appreciated and wonderful, they could be Fine Art.

5.) What details make one type more successful than the other? Snapshots are more amatuer and fine art is practiced and prefessional.
