Magazine Cover - EC

Photo Collage - EC

This collage represents me because The Walking Dead is not only my favorite show, but my favorite comic book. TWD was the first comic book i got into and really is the comic that got me into comic books which also got me more into art and a whole new community that i felt comfortable in.
TWD is such a complex show and comic. It mixes in the horror genre with things that could actually happen in relationships with people you're close to. The first time i walked into a comic book shop, I had no idea what anything was or who anyone in the comic industry was. I picked up Walking Dead and instantly fell in love with it. It made me interested in what other comics were out there and what other universes i could explore.
After I got into comic books, i soon learned about Comic Conventions and after about a year and a half of reading comic books, i went to my first con. Just like with the books, i fell in love with conventions almost immediately and go to them every year if i can.
Comics became my crutch for the past 6 years and helped get through whatever problems came at me. They became somewhere i could escape to and be comfortable with. They became something to bond over with me and my friends. Comics have shaped my in so many ways and have me through so many life changing events. I honestly don't know where i would be if i hadn't picked up TWD or if i hadn't taken those steps in the comic book shop.

Taking Better Architecture Photos

  1. How can you adjust lines in your photography? You can use a tilt-shift lens or find the vertical lines when editing in Photoshop.
  2. How does organizing your capture help the final photo? Clutter distracts from what you really want people to see. If you organize and lessen the clutter of the interior, the photo won't look messy and it'll look very put together and professional.
  3. Explain three more tip that you learned from this article and find helpful.
    1. To have control over your lighting.
    2. To always be patient, especially when trying to capture people and/or moving vehicles like cars.
    3. Double check everything.

Greatest Architectural Photographers - 3 Photos

Photo #1:

Photographer: Daniel Hewitt
Why this photo?: I chose this photo because it's a very strong photo. You could say that a weakness of the photo is that it isn't symmetrical, but for this photo that is actually one of it's strengths. It shows bold lines and a strong character.

Photo #2:

Photographer: Cameron R. Neilson
Why this photo?: I chose this photo because it actually shows what everyone sees when they look up when they're in a big city. It brings some realism that never really gets old. You can identify patterns in the architecture, like windows and balconies which kind of gives off the feeling that the buildings can go on forever and never end.

Photo #3:

Photographer: Randy Scott Slavin
Why this photo?: While Cameron R. Neilson gave a realistic and familiar look at architecture, Randy Scott Slavin gives us a more abstract and unfamiliar way of looking at things. Normally, we don't see buildings curving as they reach for the sky, we see them straight and tall, going towards the top of the frame rather than the middle. Another thing we don't see often is the whole city. Unless you're on a very high structure, you can never get an extremely detailed and perfect picture showing the whole city and all of its perks, the way Randy Scott Slavin shoots his photos, shows us the entirety of a city with an abstract and uncommon view of things which is refreshing.
